Community Guidelines
The following guidelines should be observed when conducting oneself on the Discord or the Forums in The Domains of Dread:
- Conduct yourself respectfully as you would in the company of other adults in public.
- Do not post text or visual pornography. Do not post visual, sensitive material such as gore, violent engagements, and so on.
- If instructed to cease public discussion by staff, cease public discussion. This may be because the topic has run its natural course, or that it has veered into personal attacks and/or harassment.
- If required to speak to staff privately, please open a ticket on the Discord. Do not direct message individuals for issues better raised in a ticket.
- Reports of inflammatory conduct as they pertain to The Domains of Dread are relevant even if said conduct was in direct messages or in private Discord servers, and will be considered by staff so long as they are well-substantiated with evidence.
- It should be assumed that the Discord or the Forums are out-of-character except where noted. No information revealed on the Discord or on the Forums should be acknowledged as facts in-character unless they are intended to be disseminated as public information, such as on Announcements and Proclamations subforums or the events Discord channel.
- Do not speculate on in-character matters of present and prescient importance on the Discord or the Forums. This rule includes scenes or metaplot which have not yet concluded, recent character versus character, naming and shaming, and so on. If the behavior was unwarranted, please report it instead to staff.
- Ensure that your Discord profile contains your forum name somewhere on it and vice versa. This is to better help staff keep track as to which account belongs to whom.
- All mechanics are safe to discuss on the Discord or on the out-of-character Forums as they are unless they are marked as secret in-game. Conversely, do not discuss unpatched exploits or how to perform them.
- These guidelines are non-exhaustive and conduct is by nature subjective. Staff will warn players of unwanted behavior well before such behavior becomes a disciplinary concern unless particularly egregious. Amendments will be announced on the Discord and the Forums in their respective announcement channels.
